Had I not attended a previous successful event, this experience would drive me away from the group entirely. The evening was without value at all.
There was an hour long wait to write my own name on a badge, which I learned 8 feet from the front of the line was available to anyone who could walk up and grab it. Lackluster presentations by both Trialpay and Zynga in which they described technical and marketing strategies not actually employed by their products were laughable, and I have no idea what their "sponsorship" actually did for the event and its attendees; the "food & drink provided" as advertised was nowhere to be seen.
I feel cheated and lied to. The organizer publicly apologized to the group this morning for unexpected difficulties in managing an event so large, but the RSVP list was was well over 300 for the better part of a week beforehand. His assistant was rude and unhelpful, and did not seem overly concerned at our discomfiture.
