Welcome to the Seattle Social Game Meetup! I'm looking forward to having a very active and vital group to discuss what's going on in the industry and to foster more innovation in the space as casual and traditional game companies move into the space.
The following article is a good summation of the state of things currently: http://games.ventureb... Are you adapting your current or future products to fit the new social paradigm? and if so in what ways? |

I think there will be playbooks (not just of the Zynga variety!) for succeeding in both the casual space and social space.
Unfortunately, the biggest innovation in casual games right now seems to be price-cutting which can easily become a death spiral forcing more and more developers away from publishers and portals and towards social gaming. And social gaming will need to grow from the simple experiences we now see and into something that can captivate audiences for months or years. And by captivate, I mean take out their wallet or mobile phone and spend some cash. :) |
